A Peek Into The Market Before The Trading Starts

Pre-open movers US stock futures are higher this morning, following President Barack Obama's State of the Union speech. Investors are awaiting earnings reports and monetary policy announcement by the Federal Reserve. Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 31 points to 11,953 and S&P 500 futures rose 4.80 points to 1,292. Nasdaq 100 futures climbed 7.75 points at 2,309. A Peek Into Global Markets Positive sentiment ruled the European markets today. While STOXX Europe 600 Index has gained 1.05%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved up 1.26%. Asian markets ended mixed, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average dropping 0.60% and China's Shanghai Composite rising 1.17%. Broker Recommendation Citi is out with its report today on Time Warner Cable TWC, raising its PT from $70 to $78, and reiterating Buy. In a note to clients, Citi writes, "We are raising our target price from $70 to $78 and adding to TPL due to two reasons: 1) Potential for additional share repurchases and 2) our view that OTT is an unlikely near-term risk. Given strong free cash generation, potential for additional return of capital to shareholders and minimal OTT risk in the near-term, we reiterate our Buy."
