Microsoft MSFT reported its FQ2 earnings at $6.63 billion, or $0.77 per share, compared with $6.66 billion, or $0.74 per share, in the year-earlier period. The company's revenue came in at $19.95 billion, up from $19 billion, in the year-ago period. However, analysts were expecting earnings at $0.68 per share on revenue of $19.2 billion. MSFT shares fell 0.48% to $28.73 in after-hours trading.
Wall Street expects Chevron CVX to report its Q4 EPS at $2.35. CVX shares gained 0.21% to $94.95 in the after-hours trading session.
Verizon Communications Inc VZ announced its plans to purchase Terremark Worldwide Inc TMRK for a total equity value of $1.4 billion, or $19 per share, representing a 35% premium over TMRK's closing price on Thursday. VZ shares fell 0.05% to $36.47 in after-hours trading, while TMRK shares surged 35.30% to $19.01 in the after-hours trading session.
Analysts are expecting Ford F to have earned $0.48 per share in fourth-quarter. Ford shares gained 1.01% to $18.98 in the after-hours trading session.
Amazon.com AMZN reported its Q4 net income of $0.91 per share, up from $0.85 per share, in the year-ago quarter. The company's sales advanced 36% y/y to $12.95 billion. However, analysts expected earnings of $0.88 per share on revenue of $13 billion. Amazon projects to report its Q1 revenue in a range of $9.1 billion to $9.9 billion, compared with analysts' estimates of $9.3 billion. The company expects its operating income between $260 million and $385 million, or an operating margin of 2.9% to 3.9%. However, analysts were projecting operating margin of 5% for the same period. AMZN shares dipped 8.62% to $168.55 in pre-market trading.
