Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 33 points to 18,160.00, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index futures gained 1.25 points to 2,145.50. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index rose 5.75 points to 4,907.75.

Netflix NFLX CEO Reed Hastings said he was in favor of AT&T's T planned $85.4 billion acquisition of Time Warner TWX, provided that his company continued to be treated fairly. Speaking at a technology conference hosted by the Wall Street Journal , Hastings said it was critical that Netflix's content be treated the same as Time Warner's once the deal takes effect. “If it’s open competition, we’d love that," he said.
