US stock futures are higher this morning. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 71 points to 12,406.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 8.20 points to 1,299.00. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 15.50 points to 2,483.75.
US stocks closed lower on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 0.59% to 12,369.38, the S&P 500 index declining 0.74% to 1,295.22 and the Nasdaq 100 index dipping 1.24% to 2,778.79.
Campbell Soup Co CPB is projected to post its FQ3 earnings at $0.52 per share on sales of $1.82 billion. Tidewater Inc TDW is estimated to post its Q4 earnings at $0.61 per share on revenue of $285.7 million. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc KKD is projected to post its Q1 earnings at $0.10 per share on revenue of $111.4 million.
Tech Data Corp TECD is expected to post its Q1 earnings at $1.16 per share on sales of $6.18 billion. Urban Outfitters Inc URBN is estimated to post its Q1 EPS at $0.20 on revenue of $579.33 million. Lowe's Companies Inc LOW is projected to post its Q1 earnings at $0.42 per share on sales of $12.99 billion.
JDA Software Group Inc JDAS is estimated to post its Q1 EPS at $0.57 on revenue of $171.24 million. Nordson Corporation NDSN is expected to post its Q2 EPS at $0.87 on revenue of $321.16 million.
Shares of Brown Shoe Co Inc BWS jumped 25.46% on Friday after the company reported upbeat first-quarter adjusted profit.
European markets were mostly higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index gained 0.26%, London's FTSE 100 Index dropped 0.91%, French CAC 40 index rose 0.63% and German DAX 30 index gained 0.33%.
Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 0.26%, Chinese Shanghai Composite gaining 0.16% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rising 0.62%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index declined 0.16% and India's Sensex gained 0.19%.
Nymex crude-oil futures gained $0.30 to $91.78 in electronic trade. However, gold futures dropped $0.50 to $1,591.40 an ounce.
The dollar index (DXY) declined 0.1% to 81.201. The euro gained 0.05% against the dollar to trade at $1.2771.
The US dollar rose 0.3% versus the Japanese yen to trade at ¥79.33.
