Pre-open movers
US stock futures traded lower in early pre-market trade. Data on GDP growth for the third quarter will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET, while the S&P/Case-Shiller home price index for September will be released at 9:00 a.m. ET. The Conference Board's consumer confidence index and the Richmond Fed's manufacturing index for November will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 111.5 points to 17,650.5, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures fell 14 points to 2,070.25. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index declined 33.25 points to 4,642.50.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index falling 1.75 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index declining 1.51 percent and German DAX 30 index dropping 1.22 percent. French CAC 40 Index slipped 1.77 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index fell 1.04 percent.
In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average gained 0.23 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.35 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.16 percent and India's BSE Sensex fell 0.19 percent.
Broker Recommendation
Analysts at Atlantic Equities upgraded Lowe's Companies, Inc. LOW from Neutral to Overweight and raised the price target to $94.00.
Lowe's shares gained 1.21 percent to close at $76.69 on Monday.
