US Stock Futures Down As Investors Await ADP Employment Report

US stock futures are lower this morning as investors are awaiting ADP jobs data. Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 59 points to 11,560.00 and S&P 500 futures dropped 8.10 points to 1,257.20. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index fell 13 points at 2,232.50. US stock markets closed mixed yesterday, with the Dow gaining 0.18%, the Nasdaq Composite losing 0.38% and S&P 500 dropping 0.13%. The ADP employment report for December will be released at 8:15 a.m. ET, while the ISM non-manufacturing index for December is due at 10 a.m. ET. US jobs data will be released on Friday. Mosaic Co MOS reported its FQ2 earnings at $2.29 per share, up from $0.24 per share in the year-ago period. Excluding gains from the sale of its stake in Fosfertil SA, Mosaic posted its earnings at $1.01 per share. The company's sales surged 59% y/y to $2.7 billion. Trident Microsystems Inc TRID lowered its projections for the fourth quarter. The company now projects revenue of $115 million to $120 million, versus its earlier forecast of $130 million to $140 million. TRID projects its adjusted Q4 operating loss of $18 million to $22 million, versus its earlier loss forecast of $4 million to $8 million. Family Dollar Stores Inc FDO is expected to report its FQ1 EPS at $0.61. Walgreen Co WAG is all set to report its December sales. Negative sentiment ruled the European markets today. While STOXX Europe 600 Index has dropped 0.75%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved down 0.58%. Mostly Asian markets ended in the negative territory, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average losing 0.17%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving down 0.59% and China's Shanghai Composite dropping 0.50%.
