US Stock Futures Signal Higher Start On Wall Street

US stock futures are higher this morning. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 28 points to 12,073.00, while those for the S&P 500 index gained 4.2 points to 1,311.40. Futures for the Nasdaq Composite rose 6.25 points to 2,343.75. US Markets closed higher on Friday, with the Dow Industrials gaining 29.89 points, or 0.25%, to close at 12,092.15. Data on consumer-credit for December will be released at 3 p.m. ET. Hasbro HAS reported its Q4 EPS at $0.99, beating the consensus of $0.95. Hasbro reported its Q4 revenue at $1.28 billion, versus the consensus of $1.31 billion. Loews L reported its Q4 EPS at $1.12, beating the consensus of $0.88. Loews reported its Q4 revenue at $3.7 billion, versus the consensus of $3.89 billion. AOL Inc AOL announced its plans to purchase news website The Huffington Post for $315 million. Positive sentiment ruled the European markets today. While STOXX Europe 600 Index has gained 0.84%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved up 0.70%. Asian markets ended higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average adding 0.46% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving up 0.11%.
