US Stock Futures Down As Investors Await Pfizer Earnings, Factory Orders Data

US stock futures are lower this morning, as investors are awaiting earnings from Pfizer Inc PFE and report on factory orders. Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 40 points to 12,724.00 and futures on the S&P 500 stock index fell 5.20 points to 1,352.50. Nasdaq 100 futures dropped 6.25 points to 2,395.25. US stock markets closed lower on Monday, with the Dow Jones industrial average dropping 0.02% to 12,807.36, the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index declining 0.18% to 1,361.22 and the NASDAQ composite index falling 0.33% to 2,864.08. Data on March factory orders will be released at 10 a.m. ET. Legg Mason Inc LM is expected to report its Q4 EPS at $0.45 on revenue of $712.27 million. Mastercard Incorporated MA is projected to report its Q1 EPS at $4.10 on revenue of $1.46 billion. Las Vegas Sands Corp LVS is expected to report its Q1 EPS at $0.44 on revenue of $2.14 billion. Pfizer Inc is estimated to report its Q1 earnings at $0.59 per share on revenue of $16.65 billion. CBS Corp CBS is projected to report its Q1 EPS at $0.19 on revenue of $3.46 billion. Tenet Healthcare Corp THC is estimated to report its Q1 EPS at $0.14 on revenue of $2.48 billion. McKesson Corp MCK is projected to report its Q1 EPS at $1.60 on revenue of $28.39 billion. Clorox Co CLX is estimated to report its Q3 earnings at $1.04 per share on revenue of $1.32 billion. Comcast Corp CMCSA is expected to report its Q1 earnings at $0.34 per share on revenue of $12.99 billion. Archer Daniels Midland Co ADM is expected to report its Q3 earnings at $0.86 per share on revenue of $17.69 billion. Anadarko Petroleum Corp APC reported its Q1 net income at $216 million, or $0.43 per share, down from $716 million, or $1.43 per share, in the year-earlier period. Excluding one-time items, the company's adjusted net income came in at $363 million, or $0.72 per share. The company's revenue increased to $3.25 billion from $3.14 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.58 per share on revenue of $3.09 billion. The company's production increased less than 1%. Chesapeake Energy Corp CHK reported a Q1 loss at $205 million, or $0.32 per share, compared with a profit of $732 million, or $1.14 per share, in the year-earlier period. Excluding one-time items, the company's adjusted net income came in at $518 million, or $0.75 per share. The company's revenue dropped to $1.61 billion from $2.8 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.70 per share on revenue of $2.68 billion. Most Asian markets ended lower, with Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving down 0.85% and China's Shanghai Composite gaining 0.71%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index dropped 0.37% and India's Sensex dropped 2.50%. European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index has declined 0.74% London's FTSE 100 Index moved down 0.04%. The dollar gained against other major currencies, with the dollar index (DXY) rising 0.3% to 73.236. Crude for June delivery dropped $1.09 to $112.43 a barrel in electronic trading on Globex.
