US stock futures are higher this morning, ahead of a confidence vote in the Greek parliament later in the day. Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 41 points to 12,054.00 and futures on the S&P 500 stock index rose 4.90 points to 1,278.70. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 7.50 points to 2,207.50.
US stocks closed higher on Monday, with the Dow Jones industrial average gaining 0.63% to 12,080.38, the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rising 0.54% to 1,278.36 and the NASDAQ composite index surging 0.50% to 2,629.66.
US home sales for May will be released at 10 a.m. ET.
Walgreen Co WAG is projected to report its FQ3 EPS at $0.62 on revenue of $18.33 billion. Jabil Circuit Inc JBL is projected to report its FQ3 earnings at $0.57 per share on revenue of $4.14 billion. Barnes & Noble Inc BKS is estimated to post a FQ4 loss at $0.91 per share on revenue of $1.39 billion.
Commercial Metals Company CMC is expected to report its Q3 EPS at $0.20 on revenue of $2.07 billion. Adobe Systems Inc ADBE is projected to report its FQ2 earnings at $0.51 per share on revenue of $994.78 million. Carnival Corp CCL is estimated to post its FQ2 earnings at $0.23 per share on revenue of $3.52 billion.
Renren Inc RENN reported a narrower Q1 loss and projected Q2 revenue to rise 46%-51% y/y. The company reported a quarterly net loss at $2.6 million, or $0.04 per American Depository Share (ADS), versus a loss of $12.1 million, or $0.14 s per ADS, in the year-ago period. Excluding items, the company's loss came in at $1.1 million. Its net revenue surged 47% to $20.6 million. RENN's online advertising revenue jumped to $8.1 million. However, analysts were expecting a loss of $0.04 per ADS on revenue of $20.6 million.
Asian markets ended higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 1.1261%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving up 1.17% and China's Shanghai Composite surging 1.01%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 1.1624% and India's Sensex jumped 0.31%.
European markets were higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index has gained 0.53%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved up 0.65%, German DAX 30 index rose 0.64% and France CAC 40 index gained 0.79%.
The confidence vote in the Greek parliament is likely to take place around 11 p.m. Athens time, or 4 p.m. ET. Klaus Regling, chief of the European Financial Stability Facility, reported that the Eurozone's bailout fund will be raised from €440 billion to €780 billion.
The ZEW indicator of German economic sentiment dropped higher than expected to -9.0 in June, versus a reading of 3.1 in May.
Nymex crude oil futures gained $0.87 to $94.13 a barrel in electronic trade.
The US dollar dropped against major rivals, dropping 0.1% against the yen to trade at ¥80.15.
