A Peek Into The Market Before The Trading Starts

Pre-open movers US stock futures are slightly higher this morning, amid concerns over sovereign debt. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 14 points to 12,258.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 2.70 points to 1,301.60. Nasdaq 100 futures climbed 6 points to 2,363.75. A Peek Into Global Markets European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index dropped 0.64%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved down 0.68%, French CAC 40 index fell 1.22% and German DAX 30 index dropped 1.52%. Most Asian markets ended lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average dipping 1.5056%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving down 1.59% and China's Shanghai Composite dropping 0.54%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 0.1288% and India's Sensex dipped 1.26%. Broker Recommendation Analysts at Piper Jaffray downgraded Akamai Technologies Inc AKAM from “overweight” to “neutral.” The target price for Akamai Technologies has been lowered from $45 to $26.
