US stock futures are mixed this morning, as investors are awaiting earnings and economic data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 1 point to 12,646.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 1.50 points to 1,342.20. Nasdaq 100 futures dropped 2.50 points to 2,576.25.
US stocks closed lower on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 0.79% to 12,721.46, the S&P 500 index falling 0.89% to 1,350.52 and the Nasdaq 100 index dipping 1.20% to 2,890.15.
Data on manufacturing for July will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET, while FHFA home prices for May will be released at 10 a.m. ET.
EMC EMC is projected to report its Q2 earnings at $0.39 per share on revenue of $5.3 billion. Lockheed Martin LMT is projected to post its Q2 earnings at $1.91 per share on revenue of $11.31 billion. AT&T T is expected to report its Q2 EPS at $0.63 on revenue of $31.70 billion.
Altria Group MO is projected to post its Q2 earnings at $0.57 per share on revenue of $4.48 billion. Domino's Pizza DPZ is estimated to report its Q2 EPS at $0.46 on revenue of $387.85 million. Rockwell Collins COL is projected to report its Q2 EPS at $1.15 on revenue of $1.24 billion.
Weatherford International Ltd WFT is estimated to post its Q2 EPS at $0.24 on revenue of $3.63 billion. The Western Union Company WU is expected to report its Q2 EPS at $0.43 on revenue of $1.45 billion. Apple AAPL is expected to post its Q3 EPS at $10.36 on revenue of $37.18 billion. Whirlpool WHR is estimated to report its Q2 earnings at $1.64 per share on sales of $4.63 billion.
DeVry DV issued a downbeat fiscal fourth-quarter earnings forecast. The company also announced its plans to cut around 570 jobs.
VMware VMW reported a decline in its second-quarter net income. It also announced its plans to buy Nicira for around $1.26 billion.
Sanmina-SCI SANM posted a drop in its quarterly profit.
European markets were mostly higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index gained 0.13%, French CAC 40 index rose 0.05%. London's FTSE 100 Index moved up 0.25% and German DAX 30 index gained 0.08%.
Asian markets ended mixed, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average dropping 0.24%, China's Shanghai Composite rising 0.24% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving up 0.05%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index dropped 0.79% and India's Sensex rose 0.24%.
The euro fell 0.18% versus the dollar to trade at $1.2095, down from $1.2133 late Monday.
Crude-oil futures for September delivery gained $0.28 to $88.43 a barrel. However, gold for August delivery dropped $3.20 to $1,574.20 an ounce.
