US stock futures are mostly flat this morning, as investors are awaiting ADP national employment report and GDP data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 6 points to 13,914 and S&P 500 index futures gained 0.4 point to 1,505.50. Nasdaq 100 futures climbed 2.25 points to 2,745.
US stocks closed mostly higher on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 0.52% to 13,954.42, the S&P 500 index gaining 0.51% to 1,507.84 and the Nasdaq 100 index dropping 0.02% to 3,153.66.
The ADP national employment report for January will be released at 8:15 a.m. ET, while the Commerce Department is expected to release its Q4 GDP estimate at 8:30 a.m. ET. The FOMC will announce its policy decision at 2:15 p.m. ET.
The Boeing Company BA is estimated to report its Q4 earnings at $1.19 per share on revenue of $22.36 billion. Electronic Arts EA is projected to post its Q3 EPS at $0.56 on revenue of $1.29 billion. Hess HES is expected to report its Q4 earnings at $1.22 per share on revenue of $9.63 billion.
Facebook FB is estimated to post its Q4 EPS at $0.15 on revenue of $1.53 billion. Booz Allen Hamilton Holding BAH is projected to report its Q3 earnings at $0.38 per share on revenue of $1.43 billion. Marathon Petroleum MPC is estimated to report its Q4 earnings at $2.10 per share on revenue of $19.07 billion. Las Vegas Sands LVS is estimated to post its Q4 EPS at $0.59 on revenue of $3.01 billion.
Rockwell Automation ROK is projected to report its Q1 earnings at $1.27 per share on revenue of $1.48 billion. ConocoPhillips COP is projected to post its Q4 EPS at $1.42 per share on revenue of $13.31 billion. Southern Company SO is estimated to report its Q4 earnings at $0.40 per share on revenue of $4.53 billion. Owens-Illinois OI is projected to post its Q4 EPS at $0.37 on revenue of $1.75 billion.
Amazon.com AMZN reported a 56% surge in its fourth-quarter operating income. Its revenue climbed 22% to $21.27 billion.
Broadcom BRCM reported a better-than-expected fourth-quarter profit.
European markets were mixed today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index fell 0.23%, London's FTSE 100 Index gained 0.16%, German DAX 30 Index fell 0.07% and French CAC 40 Index declined 0.04%.
Asian markets ended higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 2.28%, China's Shanghai Composite surging 1% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 Index gaining 0.17%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 0.71% and India's Sensex rose 0.07%.
The euro gained 0.47% against the dollar to trade at $1.3555.
Crude oil for March delivery rose $0.21 to $97.79 a barrel.
