US Stock Futures Slightly Lower Ahead Of Economic Data

US stock futures are slightly lower this morning, as investors are awaiting economic data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 11 points to 13,939.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 2 points to 1,516.70. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 2.25 points to 2,765.00. US stocks closed mixed on Thursday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 0.07% to 13,973.39, the S&P 500 index rising 0.07% to 1,521.38 and the Nasdaq 100 index gaining 0.06% to 3,198.66. The Empire State manufacturing index for February will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET, while industrial production data for January will be released at 9:15 a.m. ET. The Reuter's/University of Michigan's consumer sentiment index for February will be released at 9:55 a.m. ET. Campbell Soup Co CPB is projected to report its Q2 earnings at $0.66 per share. Alere ALR is expected to report its Q4 earnings at $0.57 per share on revenue of $714.75 million. The J. M. Smucker Company SJM is projected to report its Q3 earnings at $1.39 per share on revenue of $1.56 billion. V.F. Corporation VFC is projected to report its Q4 earnings at $3.03 per share on revenue of $3.07 billion. Kraft Foods Group KRFT is estimated to report its Q4 earnings at $0.24 per share on revenue of $4.75 billion. American Electric Power Co AEP is projected to report its Q4 earnings at $0.45 per share. Lifepoint Hospitals LPNT is estimated to report its Q4 earnings at $0.65 per share on revenue of $863.49 million. Lincoln Electric Holdings LECO is expected to report its Q4 earnings at $0.73 per share on revenue of $689.62 million. Asian markets ended mostly lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average falling 1.18%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 Index dropping 0.05%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 0.13% and India's Sensex dropped 0.15%.
