US Stock Futures Mixed; Apple Earnings In Focus

US stock futures are mixed this morning, as investors are awaiting economic data and earnings from Apple AAPL. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 10 points to 14,489.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 1.70 points to 1,554.20. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 1.25 points to 2,798.50. US stocks closed higher on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average gaining 0.14% to 14,567.17, the S&P 500 index surging 0.47% to 1,562.50 and the Nasdaq 100 index rising 0.86% to 3,233.55. The ICSC-Goldman comparable store sales index will be released at 7:45 a.m. ET, while the Johnson Redbook Retail Sales Index will be released at 8:55 a.m. ET. The Markit PMI manufacturing index flash for April will be released at 8:58 a.m. ET, while the FHFA house price index for February will be released at 9:00 a.m. ET. Data on new home sales for March and the Richmond Fed manufacturing index for April will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Netflix NFLX reported better-than-expected first-quarter profit. Texas Instruments TXN reported a rise in its first-quarter earnings. Apple is projected to post its Q2 earnings at $10.07 per share on revenue of $42.59 billion. Air Products & Chemicals APD is expected to report its Q2 earnings at $1.37 per share on revenue of $2.59 billion. Delta Air Lines DAL is estimated to report its Q1 earnings at $0.06 per share on revenue of $8.51 billion. AT&T T is projected to post its Q1 earnings at $0.64 per share on revenue of $31.74 billion. Johnson Controls JCI is expected to report its Q2 earnings at $0.42 per share on revenue of $10.48 billion. Lockheed Martin LMT is estimated to report its Q1 earnings at $2.04 per share on revenue of $10.31 billion. Gannett Co GCI is estimated to report its Q1 earnings at $0.35 per share on revenue of $1.24 billion. Reynolds American RAI is expected to report its Q1 earnings at $0.69 per share on revenue of $1.92 billion. Discover Financial Services DFS is projected to report its Q1 earnings at $1.12 per share. Yum! Brands YUM is estimated to post its Q1 earnings at $0.57 per share on revenue of $3.04 billion. Forest Laboratories FRX is projected to report its Q4 earnings at $0.15 per share on revenue of $805.73 million. United Technologies UTX is expected to report its Q1 earnings at $1.30 per share on revenue of $14.94 billion. E. The STOXX Europe 600 Index rose 1.06%, London's FTSE 100 Index gained 0.82%, French CAC 40 Index surged 1.50% and German DAX 30 index rose 0.61%. Asian markets ended mostly lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average falling 0.29%, China's Shanghai Composite dropping 2.57% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rising 0.95%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell 1.08% and India's Sensex gained 0.04%.
