US stock futures are higher this morning, as investors are awaiting economic data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 38 points to 15,159.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 4.60 points to 1,638.30. Nasdaq 100 futures jumped 8.75 points to 2,973.50.
US stocks closed higher on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average surging 0.73% to 15,179.85, the S&P 500 index rising 0.76% to 1,639.04 and the Nasdaq 100 index gaining 0.83% to 3,452.13.
The ICSC-Goldman Sachs store sales index will be released at 7:45 a.m. ET, while the Johnson Redbook Retail Sales Index will be released at 8:55 a.m. ET. The consumer price index for May and housing starts data for May will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. The FOMC meeting will begin today.
Korn/Ferry International KFY reported its Q4 adjusted profit at $0.32 per share, versus $0.28 per share, in the year-ago period. Its revenue climbed 15% to $239 million.
GenMark Diagnostics GNMK lowered its annual revenue forecast.
FactSet Research Systems FDS is expected to report its Q3 earnings at $1.15 per share on revenue of $214.94 million. Adobe Systems ADBE is projected to post its Q2 earnings at $0.34 per share on revenue of $1.01 billion.
John Wiley & Sons JWA is estimated to report its Q4 earnings at $0.80 per share on revenue of $467.35 million. La-Z-Boy LZB is expected to post its Q4 earnings at $0.28 per share on revenue of $357.67 million.
European markets were mostly higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index rose 0.06%, London's FTSE 100 index gained 0.53%, French CAC 40 Index climbed 0.04% and German DAX 30 index fell 0.17%.
Asian markets ended mostly lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average falling 0.20%, China's Shanghai Composite rising 0.14% and Australia's ASX/S&P500 dropping 0.22%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index declined 0.02 points and India's Sensex tumbled 99.54 points.
