US Stock Futures Up Ahead Of GDP Data

US stock futures are higher this morning. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 41 points to 14,731.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 5.30 points to 1,586.70. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 13.50 points to 2,871.75. US stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average surging 0.69% to 14,760.31, the S&P 500 index gaining 0.95% to 1,588.03 and the Nasdaq 100 index rising 0.82% to 3,347.89. The MBA purchase applications index will be released at 7:00 a.m. ET. Data on Q1 GDP growth and corporate profits will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Apollo Group APOL reported a 40% drop in its third-quarter earnings. However, the company's revenue missed analysts' estimates. Mistras Group MG lowered its profit forecast for the year. General Mills GIS is expected to report its Q4 earnings at $0.53 per share on revenue of $4.32 billion. Lindsay LNN is estimated to report its Q3 earnings at $1.80 per share on revenue of $208.11 million. Monsanto Company MON is projected to report its Q3 earnings at $1.60 per share on revenue of $4.41 billion. Paychex PAYX is expected to post its Q4 earnings at $0.38 per share on revenue of $585.96 million. Bed Bath & Beyond BBBY is estimated to post its Q1 earnings at $0.93 per share on revenue of $2.60 billion. Progress Software PRGS is projected to post its Q2 earnings at $0.22 per share on revenue of $79.0 million. Herman Miller MLHR is estimated to post its Q4 earnings at $0.36 per share on revenue of $440.20 million. HB Fuller Co FUL is projected to post its Q2 earnings at $0.70 per share on revenue of $545.72 million. European markets were higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index surged 1.40%, London's FTSE 100 index gained 0.95%, French CAC 40 Index climbed 1.71% and German DAX 30 index rose 1.29%. Asian markets ended mixed, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average falling 1.04%, China's Shanghai Composite dropping 0.41% and Australia's ASX/S&P500 rising 1.60%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 2.43% and India's Sensex dropped 0.48%.
