US Stock Futures Slightly Down; All Eyes On Greece

US stock futures are slightly lower this morning. Greek Parliament is scheduled to vote Wednesday on the EUR28.4 billion, five-year austerity package. Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 13 points to 11,977.00 and futures on the S&P 500 stock index fell 1.80 points to 1,274.50. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 3.75 points to 2,245.25. US stocks closed higher on Monday, with the Dow Jones industrial average gaining 0.91% to 12,043.56, the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rising 0.92% to 1,280.10 and the NASDAQ composite index surging 1.33% to 2,688.28. Data on April Case-Shiller home prices index will be released at 9 a.m. ET. The Conference Board's June consumer confidence index will be released at 10 a.m. ET. Nike Inc NKE reported a 14% rise in its fourth-quarter profit. Nike reported its quarterly earnings at $594 million, or $1.24 per share, up from $522 million, or $1.06 per share, in the year-ago quarter. Its revenue surged 14% to $5.77 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $1.16 per share on revenue of $5.53 billion. Shaw Group Inc SHAW is projected to post its FQ3 EPS at $0.68 on revenue of $1.69 billion. Sealy Corporation ZZ is projected to report its Q2 EPS at $0.00 on revenue of $294.82 million. Accenture plc ACN will replace Marshall & Ilsley Corp MI in the S&P 500 index, after the closing bell on July 5. Microsoft Corp MSFT is expected to launch a cloud version of Office. Asian markets ended higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average gaining 0.74%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving up 0.21% and China's Shanghai Composite surging 0.04%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 0.09% and India's Sensex jumped 0.39%. European markets were mixed today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index has dropped 0.08%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved up 0.36%, German DAX 30 index fell 0.16% and France CAC 40 index surged 0.47%. Oil futures gained, with Nymex crude futures surging $0.34 cents at $90.95 a barrel in electronic trading. The dollar index rose 0.2% to 75.425. The euro declined 0.2% against the dollar to trade at $1.4282. The dollar dropped 0.03% against the Japanese yen to trade at ¥ 80.87.
