US Stock Futures Down; Jobless Claims Data In Focus

US stock futures are lower this morning, after strong rise in the previous session. Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 30 points to 12,004.00 and futures on the S&P 500 stock index fell 5.20 points to 1,240.80. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 3.75 points to 2,291.25. US stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the Dow Jones industrial average surging 4.24% to 12,045.68, the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rising 4.33% to 1,246.96 and the NASDAQ composite index jumping 4.17% to 2,620.34. Data on weekly jobless claims will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. The Institute for Supply Management's manufacturing report for November and construction spending data for October will be released at 10 a.m. ET. Barnes & Noble Inc BKS is projected to report its Q2 earnings at $0.03 per share on revenue of $1.98 billion. Lululemon Athletica Inc LULU is projected to report its quarterly EPS at $0.25 share on revenue of $235.7 million. Talbots Inc TLB is expected to post a Q3 net loss of $0.16 per share on revenue of $271.3 million. Avago Technologies Limited AVGO is estimated to report its Q4 EPS at $0.67 on revenue of $620.80 million. Zumiez Inc ZUMZ is projected to report its Q3 earnings at $0.42 per share on revenue of $153.1 million. PVH Corp PVH is projected to report its Q3 earnings at $1.81 per share on revenue of $1.61 billion. UTi Worldwide Inc UTIW is projected to report its Q3 EPS at $0.28 on revenue of $1.34 billion. H&R Block Inc HRB is expected to post a Q2 net loss of $0.35 per share on revenue of $328.9 million. Sycamore Networks Inc SCMR is expected to post a Q1 loss of $0.13 per share on revenue of $12.00 million. Aeropostale Inc ARO reported around 60% drop in its third-quarter profit. Coldwater Creek Inc CWTR posted narrower-than-expected fiscal third-quarter loss. Asian markets ended higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average surging 1.9298%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving up 2.47% and China's Shanghai Composite gaining 2.29%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 5.6306% and India's Sensex gained 2.23%. European markets were mostly lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index has dropped 0.35%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved up 0.32%, German DAX 30 index fell 0.80% and France CAC 40 index dropped 0.52%. The euro climbed 0.4% versus the dollar to trade at $1.3494.
