US stock futures are higher this morning. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 72 points to 14,573.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 7.10 points to 1,550.30. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 13.50 points to 2,797.00.

A Peek Into Global Markets

European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index fell 0.80%, London's FTSE 100 Index dropped 0.50%, French CAC 40 Index declined 0.74% and German DAX 30 index fell 0.52%. Asian markets ended mixed, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average falling 0.41%, China's Shanghai Composite rising 0.59% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 dropping 0.46%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell 0.46% and India's Sensex rose 2.03%.
