Shares of Oracle Corporation ORCL rose sharply in today's pre-market trading after the company reported better-than-expected earnings and sales results for its first quarter on Monday.

Oracle and Amazon.com, Inc.’s AMZN AWS announced the launch of Oracle Database@AWS, a new offering that allows customers to access Oracle Autonomous Database on dedicated infrastructure and Oracle Exadata Database Service within AWS.

Oracle shares jumped 8.8% to $152.33 in the pre-market trading.
