A Peek Into The Market Before The Trading Starts

Pre-open movers US stock futures are higher, this morning, as investors awaited economic data. Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 22 points to 11,006.00, while S&P 500 futures rose 3.50 points to 1,178.20. Nasdaq 100 futures moved up 7 points to 2,097.75. A Peek Into Global Markets European markets traded mixed today. While STOXX Europe 600 Index has advanced 0.29%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved down 0.07%. Mostly Asian markets ended lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average adding 0.15%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving down 1.63% and China's Shanghai Composite losing 1.92%. Broker Recommendation Following Volterra Semiconductor Corporation VLTR analyst day meeting, Collins Stewart left feeling incrementally more positive with the company's longer term outlook and reiterated its Buy rating. “However, we are lowering our PT to $29 from $35 and trimming our 2011 estimates given limited near-term order visibility for servers,” Collins Stewart writes. “We believe our 2011 estimates will ultimately prove to be conservative given the anticipated share gains the company has garnered on Sandy Bridge in 2011 in PC NB (Huron River) and Server (Romley).” Volterra currently trades at $21.03.
